Nearly 5.9 million children will not see their fifth birthday due to preventable and treatable illnesses like pneumonia and diarrhea. The heartbreaking reality is that these children will suffer not because of a virus or bacteria, but as a result of the condition into which they were born. This is unacceptable and this is what Curamericas Global works to combat by bringing about sustainable changes to healthcare systems in remote communities across the globe.

I’ve personally witnessed the impact that Curamericas’ programs have on remote, indigenous communities in Guatemala. Many families who benefit from programs supported by Curamericas might otherwise have no access whatsoever to healthcare. Curamericas depends on the support of individuals and organizations to continue providing lifesaving healthcare services and education where they are needed most.
