Curamericas Global is running its 3rd annual Mom-a-thon, “a race to save lives.” The goal is to raise $350,000, which will allow us to reach over 120,500 families in forgotten parts of the world. Thank you for looking at my campaign and I hope you decide to join my team!
I was an intern for Curamericas Global earlier this year and it ignited a passion towards global health. I learned so much about what it means to create a sustainable impact and that even I, a college student, can make a difference in someone’s life.
Each dollar you give is multiplied by seven through matching grants, the local government and the communities themselves. In addition to being sustainable, this is a heck of a return on your investment. They support projects in Bolivia, Guatemala, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Kenya and in the USA. Each project is a bit different as community needs vary.
Curamericas Global’s main impact is saving the lives of women and children. They provide effective, evidence-based education related to hand-washing, nutrition for women and children, immunizations, and many other topics. Using community members to collect data creates a culture of data-driven decision making. Continuously and rigorously collecting data at the household level ensures that every mother and baby is reached and that they are receiving high-quality and timely health care that is important to their health. For example, they do not want to unnecessarily provide education on Malaria if it is not an issue in the community.
