Did you know that approximately 4.5 million mothers and children die unnecessarily each year? More than 786 mothers die every day from treatable conditions. I had the pleasure of visiting the KIKOP project sight in Kenya this summer where they are working to lower these statistics and end maternal and child deaths.

A little personal story…I had the pleasure of visiting the KIKOP team in Kenya in 2023 and was able to see these house visits first hand. While we were there, they were launching a digital data system to reduce error, improve efficiency and have data quickly available for decision making. Goodbye paper and pen! This was made possible by generous donations and it was really cool to be there and see the launch.

I am so grateful to have been able to see the impact first hand and learn from the mothers themselves on how KIKOP and Impact Global Health Alliance has changed their lives. We attended three celebrations for two year olds and their mothers. It was an experience of a lifetime! To hear how empowered the mothers felt and how grateful they are for all the education and resources they have been given, brought me a lot of joy.
